A Better Tomorrow Begins Today

have found that the most important thing in a human's life is the earth, because without it we would never have lived. So why dedicate all of our spare time to watching TV and wasting valuable electricity? I can find ways to have fun and feel good that I am helping our most important thing ever: Earth!

I pledge that I will never place a plastic bottle in the trash can. This is because I know where it goes: The Landfill. I will handle my plastic bottles more wisely by putting them in the recycling bin. Most people keep their trash cans in the wide open, so when you're lazy, you throw your used papers and bottles in the trash. Don't! This can be much easier if you simply place your recycling bin right next to your trash can, making it more visible. This is a great reminder that will keep you green and the Earth happy.

I pledge to never, NEVER litter because when it rains, water carries the bottles or wrappers into nearby streams or rivers which will eventually flow the litter into the ocean. Animals like sea turtles and seals mistake this litter for food and can choke themselves or even kill themselves. Litter being drained into the ocean can kill up to 1,000,000 sea animals every year. This proves that although throwing one plastic bottle on the grass may seem harmless, it can go a very long and harsh way.

I pledge to use less energy. I can save energy from my heaters and air conditioners by wearing more clothes (thicker and warmer) in the winter to keep warm and less clothes (skinnier and cooler) in the summer. I can then reduce the amount of heat and AC I use and still stay warm and toasty. This can save a lot of money for my family.

I pledge to keep our earth green, clean, and happy!

Celebration of the CNY in United State.

The first point to be noticed in comparing the Chinatown celebrations of today to that described in the proceeding section is that they have been shortened or simplified. Chinese American stores in this country do not close for a week to celebrate, nor is is likely that a Chinese American could take two weeks off from work. Therefore, many of the festivities have been adapted for the evenings or the weekends. This includes the social visits, the family dinners, and even the Chinatown parade, which is always held on a Saturday. In many Chinese American homes, the annual housecleaning is still done at New Year’s time. Spring Couplets can be seen in Chinatown stores everywhere, but these are now bought from the Chinese Hospital as a fund raising effort - an interesting variation on an old Chinese custom.

In addition to the Spring Couplets, the Chinatown lion dances have also been promoted as a fund raising event for the Chinese Hospital. In the earlier days of Chinatown, lion dances were relatively rare. In the 1920’s, a fund raising program was started whereby lion dancers would go from store to store to dance and wish them luck. In return, storekeepers would give Lai-see packets which were donated to the Chinese Hospital.

But In Malaysia, before the New Year arrives, the Chinese consider it very important to give the house a thorough cleaning, sweeping away any bad luck that may have accumulated over the past year. Doors and window panes are also often painted red, considered to be a lucky color. In addition, people like to hang paper cuts on doors and windows. We don't clean for the first few days of the New Year. If we do any sweeping during this time, we risk sweeping away your good luck. Many families have a poster of the Kitchen God in their kitchen. This is to make sure that he gives a good report on the family's behavior when he returns to heaven. On New Years day, children receive lai-see - red packets decorated with gold symbols and filled with "lucky money".

My 1st PosT!!

This morning, our English teacher with high heels walked up to our class. Actually i knew it was her by recognizing her foot-steps. She knocked at the door during the BM lesson and brought us a surprising news. I didn't expect that she will bring us to the computer lab to blog. All of us were excited and it happened out of the blue. We were so eager to go to the lab to create our own blog. When the lesson end, i saw that the 1st person who rushed out the classroom is Simon. I walked all the way down to the lab by myself. On the way i was thinking what to write on my 1st blog.

When i reached the lab, I was stunned by the upgraded computers. The computer had changed and has the facilities to surf the net. We were frustrated by the slow connection and at the meanwhile the computer were not enough. In the lab we only have 20 computers whereas our class have 43 students. We had to take turn to use the computer. However, all of us managed to create our own blog within 1 and a half hour. I enjoyed myself by helping the others to create their blog.

After we had created our blog, teacher gave us a task. She wanted us to change the template with our own creativity. I tried to find some templates but failed. The slow connection really made me pissed off. After that, she gave us another task. It was expected she wanted us to start writing.

Blogging is a beneficial activity. By blogging, we can polish our language, spend our spare time and express our feeling. I felt very fortunate that can expose to this type of modern technology and start blogging. Lastly, I found out that blogging was quite fun. I hope that all of us will 'fall in love' with the blog and starts blogging all the way~

By the way, HAPPY BLOGGING~~! xD
